As I was saying, Mother's Day got just a bit more beautiful at 10 o'clock Sunday night. Miss Lyla Rose decided she was ready to meet us and my water broke! We were set to induce on Tuesday the 10th so this really took us by surprise. We were so anxious to meet her as well but unfortunately the whole process took more than 20 hours. I only got to 9.5 cm dilated and this was after several hours of labor. My doctor was really dissappointed that I didn't dilate that last .5 cm but didn't want to wait any longer becuase the risk of putting stress on the baby or myself. Plus, Lyla hadn't dropped and wasn't ready to make her way down the birth canal. He ordered a C-Section and within 20 minutes or so we became the proudest, happiest, and blessed parents! We soon found out that she weighed a WHOPPING 9.5 lbs and measured 20.5 inches! We weren't surprised as to why she wasn't descending and I was a bit thankful that we didn't wait for that to happen : ). I cannot put into words the way I felt the moment I saw her. All I could do was cry and smile and look at the big smile on Matt's face (and of course stare at her).

The Ultimate Mother's Day
First of all, let me say that I have the best Mom in the world. Through all the trials and tribulations I can honestly say that our relationship has grown stronger and will only continue to do so. Going forward, my sweet family came to visit us on Mother's Day because we couldn't travel. We went to eat at one of our local faves, BT Longhorn Saloon in downtown Brenham. It was a beautiful day and got just a little more beautiful at about 10 p.m. that night (story continued on next blog post)...
