We headed to Shiner on the Friday and Saturday of Easter weekend and then to Dime Box on Sunday. Sorry this a tad out of order but hey, better late than never...

Friends With Boats

We have gone to the lake 3 or 4 times so far already this year thanks to friends who have boats. Matt's dad and brother also just bought a boat so there's no shortage of fun. We went to LBJ first and then Somerville the next few times since it's convenient. I highly recommend LBJ! It was a blast as were all of the other trips. Here are a few pictures from the trips all mixed up to confuse you. Enjoy but remember, we had not gotten into summer shape yet!

Wow! My hair couldn't be any nappier!

New job, new chapter...

Since I made it official today by turning in my resignation, I thought I'd announce on here that I have accepted a new job in Mumford as a Kindergarten teacher. It's not easy leaving a place where I was treated like family and where I loved my kids but I know that being closer to home will be beneficial for our future. Some of the other things I will miss about Dime Box: class sizes that averaged 10, knowing EVERYONE at school, feeling comfortable, accepted, and appreciated, several of my co-workers that I have become very close to, and the down-to-earth vibe of the school. It warms my heart every time I hear someone tell me they hate to see me go, especially during this time of year when you really need to hear that.

On another note, here is Mumford's website in case you wanted to know a little about what they have to offer: http://www.mumford.k12.tx.us/
They have a reputation of academic excellence and are very rigorous in the classroom. I always like a challenge so we'll see what the future beholds. I'm very excited about the change in grade levels and ready to try new things.

Also, please keep Matt in your prayers as he will be taking his PE Exam on April 24th. He has been up studying past midnight night after night. He really deserves to pass this doozy of a test and I pray that he does for his own sanity :) !

Fun night with good friends!

It's always good catching up with friends because time is so scarce. This past weekend Nick came to CS for a golf tournament and ended up staying the weekend. Rick FINALLY made it up here because he had a volleyball tournament but I'd like to think hanging out with us was his most important commitment, haha. Jacque was also willing to cut loose with us so we headed out to Harry's and danced the night away. Well, the girls did atleast.

AND I'm back!

Geez, I've got to get better at updating our blog. Ever since I discovered Facebook, I've been a tad distracted. Nevertheless, I'm back to post some pictures of Matt and my Valentine/ birthday weekend in San Antonio. We had a fabulous time! Our hotel room was so convenient and nestled right in the heart of the Riverwalk. Did I mention it was 5 Star? One thing I know for sure, we ate too much as usual when we go on a vacation. When else can you eat guilt free?
So we planned to go to the rodeo/carnival while we were in SA. It used to be held at the Alamadome right next to the Riverwalk. Silly us forgot the there was now the new AT&T center. We walked about 2 miles to get to the Alamadome and to our dismay, we found that there was a cheerleader competition of some sort. We felt really dumb but I'm glad we could laugh about it. We went and drank margaritas the size of our heads instead....good times.
