Something must be funny!

Thought this picture was hilarious!  Lyla is doing her motor boat thing and giving Cousin Gracie a shower!  Poor thing.

Some kiddos were looking....

Again, some kiddos were looking....sigh.

LOVE this picture!  She's so comfortable in his arms.  This really makes me wish my Grandpa Kocian and Grandpa Raab were still here.

Very interested in each other...

Lyla is 8 Months!

Seven months was one of the most exciting months yet.  You've learned so many new things and your personality is coming out little by little.  You're definitely laid back at most times and very observant.  You investigate things thoroughly and no one can get your attention when you're doing this.   You love to be in the company of others and as always, you have a smile for everyone that just takes over your face!  You've also started scooting on your booty (while screaching with joy), rocking on all fours, and as of today, crawling!  You are so determined to pull yourself up but usually try to do it on something that can fall over.  Daddy was also very thrilled this month because you said Daddy very clearly for the first time!

Christmas at Grandma & Grandpa's House

Christmas at Matt's parents' house was great as usual but Lyla wasn't able to enjoy the festivities very long.  She wasn't feeling well and had to turn in before opening her gifts.  I was able to get a few (well, more than a few) good pictures in before she started feeling bad though.

Yawning already...

Lyla's First Christmas- Take 1

With so many Christmas gatherings to attend in such a short period of time, we chose to do our own little family Christmas on the 23rd.  I know-quite early. Nonetheless, it was special to have just the three of us enjoy this special time.  Lyla was NOT into unwrapping gifts.  She liked the ribbons and bows and of course one particular ornament on the tree that was nearby.  I didn't take many pictures of our Christmas at home but oh, just you wait until you read the posts that follow this one.

I love Christmas!

 Um, what is it Dad?

Must....get....this...ornament (which she did and then broke)

I love this hand-painted, old-fashioned ornament from Waterford.  It was our "special" gift to Lyla.

It's just what I wanted! Yum!

Look what Matty got from St. Nick!  A dentist's dream!

Visiting Emry

Over Christmas break we finally got to meet the precious Emry and let me tell you, she is such a doll!  Lyla didn't pay much attention to her because Emry was sleeping the whole time.  She was more interested in Aunt A's little doggies.  It was so good to see my dear friend Amy again as well.  I secretly wish everyday that they would move closer to us ; ).

Here are a few shots that I got:

Love that little hand below the chin!

Hope that they can be best friends like their Mommies
