Lylie Bee, you're 5 months!

Lyla Rose, I can't believe how fast time has gone.  You have brought so much joy to our lives and have made us happier than we ever thought we could be. 

Here are some things you can do right now:

-Sit up in the tripod position

-Make razzing sounds with your lips (you love doing this and slobber EVERYWHERE)

-Stand with support

-You are an avid roller now

-Make high pitch noises when excited
-Eat rice cereal like a pro
-Look in the direction your name is called

-Grab everything in sight

Some funny things about you:

-Your razzing sounds

-The faces you make (especially the crooked smile one)

-The grunting you do to get your burps out (so funny)

-When you grab my face with two hands, pull my face to you, and kiss with a wide open mouth (love)

-How you try and touch our faces while we're feeding you

I'm sure there are a million things I'm forgetting but in general, you're a hoot and we love you to pieces!

I've finally conquered my procrastination habit and scheduled Lyla's 6 month/family photoshoot 2 months in advance (I know, be proud). Now to continue that trend I'm in the process of searching for outfits for her and I that would be cute in the pictures. If you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Hopefully her pictures will be done in time to send out greeting cards for Christmas (another first)!

Here are just a couple of ideas for my reference:

3 years?

It's hard for me to believe but yesterday Matt and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary.  It's scary to think that time does actually fly by that fast.  Last year (while I was pregnant mind you) we partied it up in Vegas and this year (now that I'm not pregnant)  we kept it low key.  Could it be that parenthood took a toll on our spontaneity?  Nevertheless, it's always great finding those few hours of quality time to spend together.  I love you Matt and hope the next three years don't go by as fast!!!!

What a whirlwind trip!  We arrived Friday night and left Sunday morning, but Matt and I (and hopefully one day Lyla) just love the beach so we thought it was worth it.  This was Ly's first beach trip and she wasn't too impressed.  The brightness of the sun, the movement of the waves, and the HOT temps were just too much for her.  Thank goodness we had Grandma to take care of her while we enjoyed the water.
