Happy Fall!

We are just loving Fall 2012!  So far, we have gotten to celebrate birthdays for Matt, Kevyn, Dad, Scott, Mom, Mandy and soon, Kelby.  Matt and I took a weekend trip to spend some alone time in honor of our 4th wedding anniversary. We even managed to make it to Chappell Hill's Scarecrow Festival for the first time.  Chappell Hill is a town where maybe 100 people reside.  When we arrived, we couldn't believe how many people were there!  We literally had a hard time walking down Main Street because people were shoulder to shoulder.  We did manage though.

Avery was lucky enough to find some ponies to ride.  She's a natural!

Lyla and Livvy braved the petting zoo, although, I use the "braved" loosely.  They stayed extra close to their Mommies while checking out the animals.

This look says it all...

This donkey snuck up on her.  She didn't think too much of him.

We were forced to find shelter because the on again/off again rain showers.  No one seemed to mind though.

Avery must have had something pretty interesting to say, as usual.

When the last rain cloud passed, we managed to do a little shopping.

Lyla especially liked the entertainment...

And some shots just for fun...

Last Summer Getaway

Last but certainly not least among our annual summer road trips was Port Aransas.  Lyla absolutely LOVES the beach.  She wanted to walk into the ocean by herself, without holding hands, which was quite stressful for Mommy.  The waves defeated her several times but she was a trooper and did not seem to care a bit.

Happy Independence Day!

I love patriotic holidays! They are such a special reminder of how lucky we are to be Americans and an opportunity to remember those responsible for shaping and fighting for such a great nation. Since the 4th landed in the middle of the week this year, we stayed in the Brenham vicinity. It was our first time to experience the parade in Round Top which was just as adorable as the community itself. Later on we went to Washington-on-the-Brazos where we enjoyed free Blue Bell Ice Cream and a concert. I'm not sure which the little ones enjoyed more--those girls LOVE to dance! The following weekend we went to the annual Half Moon Holidays in my hometown of Shiner. We were lucky enough to enjoy another great parade and were able to watch the fireworks from around my parents' pool.

In Round Top:

Lyla was so into the parade that this guy went out of his way to shake her hand :)
